System panels vs. custom panel families

Revit’s built-in curtain walls fill with system panels — simple glazed or solid infills controlled by thickness, offset, and material. The families in this category go further: custom curtain panel families with frames, spandrels, louvers, and double-glazed buildups that replace any system panel. To swap one in, select the panel on the curtain wall (use Tab to cycle to it), unpin it, and pick the loaded family from the Type Selector.

Curtain wall doors and windows

A door in a curtain wall is not a regular door family — it’s a curtain panel family that schedules as a door. The curtain wall doors here resize automatically to the panel they replace and appear in your door schedules with the rest of the project. Mullion profiles and hardware

Beyond panels, you’ll find mullion profile families for rectangular, circular, and thermally broken sections, plus spider fittings and point-fixed glazing hardware for structural glass facades. Profiles load as profile families and attach to mullion types through the type properties — no remodeling required.
