This category collects Revit bedroom families in RFA and RVT format: double and single beds, bunk beds for kids’ rooms, four-poster and platform frames, upholstered and panelled headboards, nightstands, vanity stools, wardrobes and complete bedroom sets. Every model is built to real mattress dimensions, so you can lay out residential bedrooms, hotel rooms and student housing knowing the clearances in your plan will hold up on site.

Formats and Revit compatibility

Most files are .rfa loadable families placed with Insert > Load Family. A few are .rvt projects containing several pieces — open them next to your model and copy-paste what you need. Each download page states the Revit version the file was saved in. Revit upgrades older families silently, but it cannot open a file saved in a newer release.

Sizing and clearances for bedroom layouts

Beds are one of the few furniture types where getting the dimensions wrong invalidates the whole room. Worth checking before you place:

• Confirm the mattress standard. A US Queen and a European 160 cm double are not the same footprint. Check the family’s actual dimensions against the standard your project uses rather than trusting the type name.
• Leave circulation space. Allow roughly 70 cm on each access side of the bed, and enough clearance in front of wardrobes for the doors or drawers to open fully.
• Build sizes as types, not separate families. If a bed only varies by mattress dimension, add types inside one family — your project browser stays readable and swapping sizes becomes a dropdown.
• Watch the level of detail. Tufted headboards and folded bedding carry a lot of geometry. Assign them a simplified representation in coarse and medium views and keep the full mesh for renders.
• Set the host correctly. Beds should sit on the floor level, not float on a work plane copied from another view — a common cause of elements vanishing from sections.
