Hosting and parameters worth checking
Floating and wall shelves are typically wall-hosted, which means they move with the wall when the layout changes — convenient, but it also means they will not place in a view where the host wall is not visible. Freestanding bookcases are non-hosted and go anywhere. Several families in this category are parametric: shelf count, board thickness and overall height are exposed as type parameters, so one family covers a range of sizes rather than forcing a separate download per variation. If you are populating shelves with books or objects for renders, keep those as separate detail-level components you can switch off in working views, since dozens of small items add up quickly in a large model.
